Piano Lessons for Intermediate Players

Build Your Skills: Intermediate Piano for Passionate Players! This intermediate group class is crafted for those ready to expand their piano skills and explore new musical challenges in an engaging, supportive environment. Building on the basics, our weekly masterclasses allow up to eight students to dive into more advanced techniques, focusing on expression, dynamics, and interpretation.

In our Digital Piano Lab, each student has their own instrument, headphones, and iPad, allowing for an individualized experience within the group setting. Through eNovativePiano.com, you can track your progress, access course materials, and explore new exercises projected on the overhead screen, with the instructor guiding the group, smaller teams, and individuals as needed. 

Performance practice remains a central focus, helping you refine your skills and gain confidence. Join us as we explore more challenging pieces and experience the joy of making music at a higher level – together!

Learn from Home: Piano for Beginners via Zoom! Experience the joy of learning piano from the comfort of your own home in our beginner Zoom class, designed to be just as interactive and inspiring as our in-person sessions. With a collaborative teaching approach, this class brings together students virtually for weekly masterclasses, fostering a vibrant community of learners even from afar. 

With digital access to NovativePiano.com, you’ll track your individual progress, view all course materials, and receive guidance through screen-sharing and breakout rooms for one-on-one or small group work. Our virtual classroom setup includes regular performance opportunities to build confidence, skill, and a sense of shared accomplishment.

Join the Fun: Piano for Everyone! This exciting beginner group class is designed to make learning music and piano accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for all. Inspired by Franz Liszt's 19th-century teaching method, our weekly masterclasses bring together eight students for a collaborative and dynamic learning experience.

In our state-of-the-art Digital Piano Lab, each student has their own instrument, headphones, and iPad. You'll log in to eNovativePiano.com to track your individual work and view course materials on the overhead screen, while the instructor uses specialized lab technology to teach the entire group, small groups, and even one-on-one.

Music is meant to be shared, and performing is a skill to be honed. Unlike traditional private lessons, our class incorporates frequent performance opportunities right from the start, helping you build confidence and practical skills in a supportive environment. Resources

We use eNovative Piano, a multimedia online curriculum for piano instruction. Students must have access to a computer or tablet with internet connectivity at home.

Students must have a keyboard instrument at home for practice. The keyboard must have full sized keys – 76 or 61 keys will work. 88 weighted-key instrument is the best option. Digital keyboards and acoustic pianos are readily available and inexpensive. I will be happy to help locate a suitable instrument for students to buy.

Fees

The class fee is $267 per month, due at the final scheduled class each month.

For course materials, there's a one-time subscription fee of $86. We use eNovative Piano, an interactive online curriculum that enhances your learning experience. This subscription provides access to the materials for the class through May.

Attendance

Piano Lessons

Classes are highly interactive, with a significant focus on students performing for one another, engaging in discussions on lesson topics, and addressing challenges that arise during practice.

Please note that make-up lessons are not available. However, I am committed to supporting students who miss a class, and I will be accessible via phone, text, and/or email to review the material covered and ensure students are prepared for the next class. Kindly be aware that class fees are non-refundable in the event of an absence.

Tyler Henderson - Instructor

About

Tyler Henderson's primary role and foremost passion is pastoral music. In 1987 he took his first professional role as church organist at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Today, Tyler serves as the Music Director at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Naples, Florida. His multifaceted role encompasses duties as an organist, pianist, and choir director, infusing his passion for music into both sacred music performance and education.

Throughout his career, Tyler has been an educator. As a member of the University of New Orleans faculty, he instructed music majors and non-music majors in piano, music appreciation, and musical theater. His dedication to the arts extended beyond the classroom as the Founder and Director of New Orleans Community Arts, a non-profit organization supporting performance and fine arts within the community. A committed collaborator, Tyler has performed with numerous ensembles, including the New Leviathan Oriental Fox-trot Orchestra, a celebrated New Orleans tradition.
